Sierra Nevada offers 134 pistes, 112.5 km of skiable terrain and the largest vertical drop in Spain (1,200 m), with sunshine practically guaranteed and, on clear days, the coast of Almuñécar and Salobreña visible from Veleta. The typical season runs from December to April/May, one of the longest in Spain; the Sulayr Snowpark is one of the best in Europe, host of World Cup events; and, 100 km from the sea, it is the only European resort with the Costa Tropical in view.

Route: A-395 (Sierra Nevada motorway), straight to the resort.
Two routes: along the coast via Motril (A-7 + A-44) or inland via Casabermeja (A-45 + A-92).
Fastest route: AP-7 (toll) to Malaga, then A-44 towards Granada and A-395 to Sierra Nevada.
Route: A-92 towards Granada, exit A-44 (Armilla/Motril) and link to the A-395.
Train alternative: Avant Seville-Granada in 2 h 30, then bus to the sierra.
Route: A-7 to Lorca and then A-92N/A-92 towards Granada, connecting with the A-395.
No direct bus: ALSA to Granada (3 h 15) and Tocina to the sierra.
Route: A-4 (Andalusia motorway) to Bailén and then A-44 straight to Granada and Sierra Nevada.

Sierra Nevada can close occasionally due to wind or visibility. It's rare, but it happens. The good news: you've got plenty of plan B, both in Pradollano and down in Granada.

Yes, it's essential. Skiing in Sierra Nevada is a short-season activity and places fill up fast: Luis only teaches in a personalised format, so daily availability is very limited. The earlier you book, the better — especially for weekends, public holidays and school holidays.

No spots left for your ideal day or time? Don't worry: we always offer you an alternative. Add yourself to the waiting list by writing to us on WhatsApp with the date and time slot you wanted — if anyone cancels or opens a spot, you'll be the first to know. The important thing is to book as early as possible: leaving it to the last minute usually means being left without a spot.
For safety reasons, skiing with a rucksack on your back is not recommended: in case of a fall it can increase the risk of injury (especially to shoulders and back) and unbalances your turns.
Cetursa runs an official locker and storage service at Borreguiles and at the Pradollano base. It costs around 5 € per day and lets you leave your rucksacks 100% safely. When the lesson ends you'll have everything to hand to eat and spend the rest of the day relaxed on the mountain.
